Housing is a human right. We won’t have a healthy, resilient and inclusive Petaluma until working people can afford to live here. Everyone who works in Petaluma should be able to live here.

We need to treat racism like we should be treating COVID-19: understand that it exists and be willing to change our minds and behavior in order to end it. Racism is not acceptable in a healthy, resilient, and inclusive Petaluma.

For years the community has asked city government to deal with the sorry state of our streets and worsening traffic congestion. For years these problems have not been solved. We need a council that identifies actual solutions to old problems and is willing to act aggressively to solve them.

One of the first things I learned as a medical student was that in an emergency you must respond decisively. We can’t debate the climate emergency any longer.  I will defend your right to a healthy future by fully funding and staffing our Climate Commission. 

The COVID-19 virus has dramatically affected our lives. As a physician I learned the importance of being guided by science. Until such time as there is a safe and effective vaccine, the only way to control the virus, revive our economy, and reopen schools is to follow public health principles and guidelines. There are no shortcuts.
